Painting has always been her passion and Irene loves to paint her native Scotland .

I always knew I would paint when the time was right, my art teacher couldn’t believe I had chosen design telling me I was a painter! I didn’t believe him then but I have been trying to prove him right for for some time now, Bless him!

I am continually bowled over by the beauty of nature, the wind in the grasses, the clouds as they chase our Scottish skies and our beautiful ever changing seasons . I am firstly drawn to colour . I keep trying to capture the essence of our wonderful country, not easy when nature does it best of all.”

Irene is a member of GWSA , Paisley Art Institute and Ayr Sketch Club where she exhibits regularly.

Irene is an artist in residence at the Coachhouse gallery, in the grounds of Culzean Castle and Country Park, where she exhibits in her gallery.
