If you walk south along the sea front in Ayr and keep going you will eventually come to the mouth of the river Doon. This was a particular warm May morning where the water was an unusual turquoise colour, seldom seen here. There are always twitchers assembled here as there are many sea birds . Nowadays there is a lovely bridge which spans the Doon and connects Doonfoot to the town.
